Concrete Patios & Walkways in Queen Creek, AZ

Patios & Walkways · Queen Creek, AZ

Turn Your Backyard Into Usable, Beautiful Space

A concrete patio is the easiest way to turn dead backyard space into a place you actually use. In the East Valley, outdoor living runs all year, and a well-built patio is where that happens. DC Construction and Development pours patios, walkways, and steps that are level, drain right, and hold up to the Arizona sun. We pride ourselves on clean job sites, on-time crews, and a finished slab that looks as good in five years as it does on day one.

Owner Dustin Cash runs every project himself, so you get one point of contact from the first walkthrough to the final pour. We keep you in the loop with text updates, show up when we say we will, and stay on the budget we quote. Whether you want a simple side-yard walkway, a wrap-around patio off the back of the house, or a full pool deck, we build it to fit how you live in your yard, not the other way around.

Concrete Patios Built for East Valley Living

Your patio is the foundation of the whole backyard, so we treat it that way. We start by looking at how you want to use the space, where the sun lands, and how water moves across the yard during monsoon season. From there we lay out a concrete patio that fits the house and gives you real, usable square footage. Want to push the slab past the existing footprint? A patio extension blends the new pour into what you have. Prefer it to wrap the corner of the house? We build it that way and tie it into a walkway so the whole yard flows.

Good base prep is everything out here. Caliche and expansive soil move when they get wet, so we prep the ground correctly before a single yard of concrete goes down. That groundwork is the difference between a slab that stays flat and one that cracks and lifts in a couple of seasons.

Walkways, Pathways, and Steps That Connect the Yard

A patio is better when you can actually get to it. We pour walkways and pathways that link the front entry, the side yard, the gate, and the back patio into one clean route, so nobody is cutting across gravel or dirt to get where they are going. A front-entry path sets the tone before anyone reaches the door, and a side-yard walkway turns a narrow strip most people ignore into a tidy, usable lane.

Where the grade changes, we form poured concrete steps and landings that feel solid underfoot and match the rest of the flatwork. Everything is sloped to shed water away from the house and the foundation, which matters when the monsoon storms roll through and dump rain fast.

Pool Decks, Finishes, and Beating the Arizona Heat

Pool decks are everywhere in the Valley, and they take a beating from sun and foot traffic. We pour pool decks with the right slope to move splash-out and storm water away from the pool and the house, and we finish them with surfaces that give you grip when they are wet. Finish and color matter more here than most people expect. Lighter colors and broom or textured finishes stay noticeably cooler underfoot in the summer, so bare feet are not jumping from shade to shade.

We walk you through finish, color, and sealing choices up front and explain the tradeoffs in plain terms. The goal is a deck and patio that look great, hold their color, and stand up to years of Arizona sun. DC also handles driveways, slabs, and stamped concrete, so if your project grows beyond the backyard, the same crew can take care of it.

How much does a concrete patio cost in Queen Creek?
Every concrete patio is priced on its size, the base prep your soil needs, and the finish you choose. Caliche and expansive soil out here can add prep work that a flat lot would not. We come out, look at the space, and give you a clear, itemized quote up front, then stay on that number through the pour. No surprise add-ons at the end.
How long does it take to pour and use a new patio?
Most residential patios and walkways are formed, poured, and finished within a few days, depending on size and prep. Concrete needs time to cure after the pour, so we tell you exactly when you can walk on it, set furniture out, and put full weight on it. We keep you updated by text the whole way so you always know the next step.
Will my concrete crack in the Arizona heat and soil?
All concrete can develop hairline cracks, but proper base prep and control joints keep it to a minimum. The expansive and caliche soils in the East Valley move when they get wet, so we prep the ground correctly and place joints where the slab can flex. Skipping that step is the main reason patios crack and lift early.
Can you extend or wrap around my existing patio?
Yes. A patio extension is one of our most common jobs. We can push your slab out for more usable space or wrap it around a corner of the house and connect it to a walkway. We match the new pour to the existing surface as closely as possible and tie the drainage in so water still moves away from the foundation.
What finishes and colors do you offer for patios and pool decks?
We offer broom and textured finishes, integral and surface color, and stamped patterns that mimic stone, brick, or tile. For pool decks and sunny patios we usually steer you toward lighter colors and textured finishes, since they stay cooler underfoot and give better grip when wet. We go over every option before we pour.
Do you handle drainage so water moves away from my house?
Yes, and it is built into every job. We set the slope on patios, walkways, and pool decks so storm water drains away from the house and foundation instead of pooling against it. That matters most during monsoon season, when rain comes down hard and fast. Proper slope is part of the pour, not an upsell.
